Patient Data Protection – Type 1 Opt Out
Practices are legally required to share data with NHS Digital which is mandated by the Secretary of State.
To comply with data protection obligations, patients need to be aware of how their data will be shared for GPDfPR (General Practice Data for Research and Planning) however patients do have the right to opt out. The start date for data sharing with NHS Digital has been delayed to 1 September 2021.
